The deadline is fast approaching for the Marin Municipal Water District's new Water Scholars Program. The program will award up to two $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors within MMWD’s service area to help support their post-high school education. Applications are due to the District by Friday, January 26, 2018.
To apply, a student must be a member of the 2018 Senior Class within MMWD's service area, maintain a current GPA of 3.0 or higher, and submit a completed application form and essay. The essay portion invites students to share their ideas about the importance of clean water, water conservation and watershed preservation.
MMWD created the scholarship program to expand water education and water awareness for high school students. The District also offers a variety of free water education programs for schools in its service area, including classroom presentations, assemblies, and field trips to the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed.
