  1. Community Science: Pollinator Workshop

    June 23, 2018, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Main Office

MMWD and San Francisco State University have begun studying the bees of Mt. Tamalpais. This is the first time this part of Marin has ever been surveyed for pollinators. The volunteer event involves sorting through the insects that were collected in traps on the mountain. We will separate bees from other insects and debris and then attach the bees to small pins by piercing or gluing them to the pins. Labels are then affixed. These prepared specimens are sent off to entomologists for further study. Meet at MMWD office in Corte Madera. Ages 13 and up. RSVP encouraged as space is limited. Opportunity to help until 2:00.

  2. Wildlife Picture Index Project

    June 26, 2018, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Main Office

Come contribute to the Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project! This project depends on volunteer "Community Scientists" to help maintain wildlife cameras and process photos, and we are especially looking to train and retain volunteers for the long-term. At this event we will be using computers to view and catalog photos acquired from wildlife cameras in Marin. Newbies and experienced catalogers welcome, and snacks will be provided. Register today at onetam.org/volunteer as space is limited.
