MMWD Announces Sept. 4th Special Meeting on Vegetation Management Plan for Mt. Tamalpais Watershed

Water Rate Discount Programs

MMWD has two water rate discount programs that are available for any customer who qualifies. One is the Low Income Service Charge Waiver Program and the other is the Medically Disabled Water Rate Program.

Under the low income service charge waiver program, the bi-monthly meter service charge is waived; under the medically disabled water rate program, all water used is billed at the Tier 1 rate.

MMWD Releases 2008 Water Quality Report

MMWD announces the release of its 2008 Annual Water Quality Report , which shows, once again, that the water we provide meets, and in fact surpasses, all state and federal health regulations. The water quality report is provided annually in compliance with requirements established by the California Department of Public Health and the US Environmental Protection Agency and as a policy of MMWD to inform customers of the contents of their drinking water and water quality standards.

WATERSHED NEWS

Red Flag Warning Today

Red flag fire danger warning today on the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed. The following land use restrictions are in effect: no private vehicles at the Sky Oaks or Natalie Coffin Greene Park entrances to the watershed; no fires or BBQs at picnic areas. Hikers, horseback riders, and bicyclists are still able to use district lands. These restrictions are currently predicted to be in effect until at least 8:00 am Friday, August 29, but may be extended as conditions change.

Shaver Grade Pipeline Project

MMWD is installing more than one mile of 24- and 30-inch diameter pipeline on the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed to upgrade a section of a critical water transmission line that carries water from the San Geronimo Treatment Plant in West Marin to MMWD customers in the Ross Valley and south. ( see map )

MMWD Joins Bay Area's Water Saving Heroes Campaign

Everything Starts With Water MMWD has joined other Bay Area water agencies in an unprecedented regional public education campaign aimed at reminding residents and businesses to curb water use this summer and fall. The “Water Saving Hero” campaign features ordinary people adopting simple water conservation practices in their everyday lives. Visit www.WaterSavingHero.com

School Education Program

MMWD is proud to offer these FREE services to teachers in MMWD's service area:

  • In class water lessons
  • School garden workshops for teachers
  • School garden grants
  • School garden technical support

Rebate Programs

Residential and Commercial Toilets. Purchase a new high-efficiency toilet (HET) and you could qualify for a rebate up to $250 per toilet. HETs flush with at least 20 percent less water than standard toilets. Rebates available for a limited time on a first-come, first-served basis. More

Residential Clothes Washers. Get a clothes washer rebate and start saving water, energy and money today!  More

Non-residential Urinals. Business customers can get a rebate of up to $350 on new high-efficiency urinals (HEUs) or an even larger $400 rebate on new no-water urinals. HEUs flush using half or less the water used by standard urinals. No-water urinals are an improvement over traditional urinals in both maintenance and hygiene. More

Bay-Friendly Landscaping & Gardening. MMWD encourages its Bay-Friendly Landscaping & Gardening logocustomers to adopt Bay-Friendly landscaping and gardening practices by offering a rebate program for the purchase of efficient irrigation equipment and supplies to upgrade existing landscapes.
