Resource Management Natural Resource Management

Yellow-legged FrogWe are committed to sustaining, and restoring where needed, the ecological health of our watershed lands. The Mt. Tamalpais Watershed Management Policy provides overall guidance for our activities on the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed. The Mt. Tamalpais Vegetation Management Plan  completed in 1994 provides direction for programs to restore habitat, protect rare plants, reduce fire hazards, and control invasive pest plants. Our Mt. Tamalpais Watershed Road and Trail Management Plan will implement best management practices to reduce the road and trail network’s impacts on water quality. We have ongoing programs to monitor special status plant and animal species such as songbirds, northern spotted owl, osprey, bats, yellow-legged frog, and western pond turtles.
