Phoenix Lake Pipeline Replacement

Phoenix Lake Pipeline Replacement Project

The Phoenix Lake Road Pipeline Seismic Reliability Project – one of the projects identified as part of the Fire Flow Master Plan Integrated System Reliability Study – starts in June and will involve the installation of a new water transmission line that serves central and southern Marin. The existing pipeline dates back to around 1880 (prior to MMWD’s formation in 1912). Some popular roads and trails in the vicinity of Phoenix Lake will be closed to the public for the duration of that project, which is approximately five months.

The project is on track to meet the scheduled completion date of November 12.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we undertake this important infrastructure project.

Watershed visitors: Thank you for staying out of closed areas. The reason for the closures is safety, including yours. We will continue to review the closure plans as the project progresses and will make any adjustments accordingly.
