Premium High Efficiency Toilets and Urinals

As of January 1, 2020, the rebate program requirements for tank-style high efficiency toilets have changed. Rebates are now available only for Premium High Efficiency Toilets – toilets that are WaterSense® labeled and use 1.1 gallons per flush (gpf) or less.

Customers who purchased a WaterSense® labeled 1.28 gpf toilet prior to January 1, 2020 may submit a rebate application until March 31, 2020.

Residential Rebate Level: $150 per toilet (limit 2 per household)

The largest amount of water used inside a home – 30% – goes toward flushing the toilet. But how much water your toilet actually needs to flush properly is less than you think!

Replace your old toilets with premium high efficiency toilets that use just 1.1 gallons or less per flush. Premium high efficiency toilets use almost 20% less water than the WaterSense® standard and flush the same amount of waste just as, if not more, effectively.

Home improvement stores throughout Marin County carry rebate-eligible toilets.

Commercial Toilets Rebate Level: $150 per toilet

Rebates are for the purchase and installation of eligible high-efficiency toilet fixtures (tank-style or flushometer-style) that replace existing 1.6 gpf or greater toilets.

Tank-style toilets must be WaterSense® labeled with a maximum flush volume of 1.1 GPF or less and be on the list of MaP PREMIUM toilet models approved by the California Energy Commission for sale in California.

Flushometer-style toilets must be WaterSense® labeled with a maximum flush volume of 1.28 GPF.

Commercial Urinal Rebate Level: $200 - $400 per urinal

Premium high efficiency urinals must be WaterSense® labeled with a maximum flush volume of only 0.125 gallons per flush; no-water urinals are waterless. Eligible urinals must replace existing urinals that use at least 1.0 gallons per flush.
