Summer English Ivy Bash - The Results Are In!

Posted on July 7, 2016 at 11:22 AM by Emma Detwiler

A big thank you to everyone who came out to Woodacre on Saturday, June 18 to join the Watershed Stewards Program, Marin Municipal Water District, and Marin Resource Conservation District!

Volunteers joined conservation professionals in removing large swaths of English Ivy from a private property stream bank, opening up space for native plant re-colonization and protecting nearby trees from suffocation.

Volunteers also constructed 8 willow structures (Coho Cabanas!) to provide young Coho with shady refuge during the hot summer months ahead.

Watershed Stewards Program, MMWD, and Marin Resource Conservation District are always looking for locations to enhance and restore for the continued preservation of salmonids in local watersheds. You can reach MMWD’s Watershed Stewards at 415-945-1188. If you volunteered and want to share pictures or stories from the event, contact Daniel.Hossfeld@ccc.ca.gov.
