Get Paid to Save with Bigger Toilet and Clothes Washer Rebates from MMWD

Posted on July 9, 2015 at 11:45 AM by Ann Vallee

MMWD Rebates Get Paid to SaveBigger toilet and clothes washer rebates are here! As of July 1, 2015, we're pleased to offer:
  • Up to $150 each for EPA WaterSense labeled high-efficiency toilets (Limit: two per household)
  • Up to $150 for an Energy Star Most Efficient clothes washer (Limit: one per household)
In addition to getting a rebate on your purchase, you will continue to save money, and water, in the long term by replacing old water-wasting toilets and clothes washers with new high-efficiency models.

Older toilets can use 3.5 gallons per flush or more, while new high efficiency models use 1.28 gallons or less—a savings of more than 50%. Similarly, old-school clothes washers can chug 30-40 gallons with every load, while many new high-efficiency models use less than half that.

The new rebates are thanks to $1.6 million in California Proposition 84 grant funding awarded to MMWD to support the district's conservation efforts.

MMWD also continues to offer district-funded rebates up to $50 each for pool covers, hot water recirculating systems, organic mulch, laundry-to-landscape system components, and rain barrels.

Please note that only toilets and clothes washers purchased on or after July 1, 2015, are eligible for the new rebates. Our previous toilet and clothes rebate program ended June 30. We're sorry, but we're no longer accepting rebate applications for toilets and clothes washers purchased on or before June 30.
