The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from 11p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 until 5p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 that includes the Mount Tamalpais Watershed in Marin County. Due to high winds, dry conditions and extreme fire danger, the Mt. Tam Watershed will be closed to vehicle traffic until the Red Flag Warning is no longer in effect. As a precautionary measure, the public is encouraged to postpone visits to the watershed during this time.
Hard road closures will be in place at the following public vehicle access points to the watershed:
- The base of the hill at the intersection of Cascade Drive and Bolinas Road
- The base of Sky Oaks Road at Bolinas Road
- The entry gate in front of the Sky Oaks Ranger Station
