The Marin Municipal Water District (District) is the owner of the Mt. Tamalpais Communications Site located on Middle Peak and Building 402 located on the West Peak of Mt. Tamalpais within the District’s watershed property. On March 23, the District released a request for proposals (RFP) for a site operator/master licensee to assume site and sublicensee management responsibilities upon the expiration of the current lease held by American Tower Corporation on August 30, 2022. The RFP presents a unique opportunity to manage and operate a vital communications facility with close proximity to several major urban population centers and the Pacific Ocean, which currently houses more than 30 different users. The selected proposer will be asked to enter into a new master license agreement for the purpose of marketing and operating the site and managing sublicensees for the mutual benefit of the District and the selected proposer.
