Please watch the above “how-to” video before completing this application: it explains the basics of a Laundry-to-Landscape system installation, and whether it’s right for you. You will be notified by email when your application is approved. The email will include a voucher for $125 off the purchase of a Laundry-to-Landscape kit at The Urban Farmer Store, Mill Valley. Purchase cost after discount is $75 plus tax.

A "crawl space" is an area of limited height under a floor that gives access to wiring and plumbing, which can make it easier to install graywater piping. A "slab foundation" is a large, thick slab of (typically) concrete that may require altering in order to install or route graywater piping.
This will help determine how much tubing you will require to get there.

  • Offer applies to MMWD residential single-family and duplex customer sites with active potable water service.
  • Applicant must be the MMWD account holder, and property owner or water bill-paying tenant, with consent from property owner.
  • Applicants agree to watch an approved Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) Graywater "how-to" video to be eligible to purchase a discounted L2L graywater kit from the Urban Farmer Store located at 653 East Blithedale Ave, Mill Valley (discount of $125 is applied at time of purchase, purchase cost after discount is approximately $75 plus tax).
  • Laundry-to-landscape graywater kits are for program applicants that meet the following requirements:
    • Currently have a working clothes washing machine on site.
    • A yard that is level or down-sloping from the location of the clothes washer.
    • A single-family or duplex home that is owned by the participant. If the participant does not own the property where he/she intends to install the laundry-to-landscape graywater kit, the applicant certifies that necessary permissions have been obtained from the property owner.
  • Only one laundry-to-landscape graywater kit shall be redeemed per MMWD service address.
  • The laundry-to-landscape graywater kit shall be installed at the applicant’s MMWD water service address provided on the application.
  • MMWD reserves the right to verify the installation of the laundry-to-landscape graywater kit. Failure to allow an inspection of the installed system within 30 days of request may result in the District recovering costs from the applicant for the subsidized value of the kit.
  • Applicant agrees to complete a program participation survey to assist MMWD in identifying critical data points regarding residential graywater systems. This survey will be emailed, mailed or provided via telephone.
DISCLAIMER/WAIVER
  • Applicant expressly agrees that MMWD may inspect all laundry-to-landscape graywater kit installations for properties participating in this program; that MMWD does not warrant any components included in the laundry-to-landscape kit to be free of defects, the quality of workmanship, or the suitability of the premises or products for a graywater system.
  • Applicant further agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MMWD, its directors, officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all loss, damage, expense, claims suits, and liability, including attorney fees arising out of or in any way connected with the Laundry-to-Landscape Graywater Program or installation of a graywater system. The applicant shall indemnify, hold harmless, defend and release MMWD, its officers, directors, agents, and employees from any and all liability, claims, damages, costs, and expenses of lawsuits, which may be asserted by any person or entity, including Applicant, arising out of or in connection with the activities of Applicant, its agents, and employees provided for herein whether or not there is concurrent passive negligence on the part of the District but excluding liability for District’s sole negligence and willful misconduct.
  • Applicant has read, understands, and agrees to the terms and conditions listed on the rebate application.
  • Applicant understands that installation of a laundry-to-landscape graywater system may not result in lower water bills.
  • MMWD reserves the right to change the terms of the Laundry-to-Landscape Graywater Program offer at any time, without notification.
