Marin Water is proposing to replace two seismically vulnerable San Geronimo Creek pipeline crossings of the North Marin Line (NML) with seismically resistant crossings. The NML was constructed in 1957 to convey raw water from Marin Water’s Kent Lake and Nicasio Reservoir to the San Geronimo Treatment Plant. The existing San Geronimo Creek pipeline crossings are supported on concrete trestles installed in the creek bottom and emerge from the ground through the San Geronimo Creek banks.
Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Marin Water has prepared a Draft Supplemental Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the proposed North Marin Line Stabilization Project. The document evaluates potential environmental effects associated with design refinements since adoption of the original 2016 North Marin Line Stabilization Project IS/MND. The document is now published and its public comment period is open through 5 p.m. on November 17, 2025.
