This project will replace 870 feet of aging, leak-prone cast iron and cement pipe with seismically resilient welded steel pipe. Work will take place along Bridgeway Avenue, from Coloma Street to Harbor Drive in Sausalito. As part of this year's planned Capital Improvement Program, the Bridgeway Pipeline Replacement Project was chosen based on the concentration of leaks experienced in this portion of the District's water system.
Project Update (July 28, 2025): Work is expected to begin the week of Aug. 4. Construction is planned for completion in September. |

Maintaining water system infrastructure is a top priority
The Bridgeway Pipeline Replacement Project is part of Marin Water’s Capital Improvement Program, which prioritizes updates to the District’s aging water infrastructure system to ensure its reliability and resiliency. With parts of this area’s water pipelines nearing 100 years old, and a history of costly failures, water main replacement here is critical to ensuring reliable water delivery to customers in the area.
