High School Programs

Classroom Presentations

Our higher-level, advanced presentations take a deep-dive into current water supply sources, future water supply projects, and offer a more detailed look into our distribution system and water treatment processes. Students also learn about local water demand by sector, the water and energy nexus, climate impacts and discuss advanced methods for saving water.

High School Video Contest- coming soon!

With a rotating annual theme, our video contest encourages high-schoolers to submit their own produced videos for a chance to win an individual cash prize and an additional cash prize to support their classroom! Annual theme and official contest rules to be announced at the start of the 2025-26 school year.

Explore Water Industry Careers

Water Operations

High school students are encouraged to take a tour of one of our three water treatment plants to learn about careers in the water industry. At these treatment plants, District staff work to provide nearly 8.2 billion gallons of clean drinking water each year and ensure that water meets all state and federal standards via a battery of more than 115,000 tests annually. Contact schoolprogram@marinwater.org for accommodations and availability based on number of students.

Watershed Protection

Watch this video, Day in the Life of a Watershed Ranger, created by Gary Yost, to see how Marin Water staff and volunteers thoughtfully steward the Mt. Tam watershed.
