TranslateThis project includes the installation of about 7,000 feet of 12-, 8- and 6-inch welded steel pipe to replace aging, leak-prone cast iron pipe along Miracle Mile, a stretch of road connecting San Rafael to San Anselmo. The Miracle Mile Pipeline Replacement Project includes work on 2nd and 4th streets in San Rafael, as well as Red Hill Avenue in San Anselmo.

Investing in your water system
The potable water distribution pipes in this area are extremely old, and have a history of leaks that disrupt water service and are costly to repair. Additionally, old cast iron pipes are brittle, which makes them more likely to fail during a seismic event. Replacing the old cast iron pipe in this area with new, welded steel pipe will help prevent future leaks and improve the seismic resilience of the water distribution system.
